FAQs
When will my lampshade arrive?
We aim to make and dispatch all lampshades within 10 working days from placing an order but often it is much quicker than this. Please allow a further 2-4 days for delivery once dispatched.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is FREE to all parts of the UK
I'm not in the UK, can you ship to another country?
Sorry, we only ship within the UK.
Will your lampshades fit my lamp base or ceiling light?
Each shade fitting is supplied with a reducer ring making it suitable for use with standard UK and EU lamp bases or with standard ceiling pendants. The fitting sits approximately 4cm from the top or bottom of the shade. If you have an unusual lamp or are unsure of the orientation you need please get in touch via the contact page.
The shades will fit the following lamp holder types:
B22 Bayonet Cap Lampholders (UK) Reducer ring fitted
E14 Edison Screw Lampholders (EU) Reducer ring fitted
E27 Edison Screw Lampholders (EU) Reducer ring removed
Can I use my lampshade on both a ceiling pendant and a table lamp?
Unless the fabric is plain or has a non directional pattern, your lampshade will only be suitable for the orientation you have ordered. While the fitting is the same for ceiling lampshades and table/floor lampshades, patterned fabrics such as those with animals on need to positioned the correct way up and are not interchangeable.
The table lamp fittings attach at the bottom of the shade and the ceiling pendant fittings attach at the top of the shade.
Can you make any other shapes or sizes e.g. an empire shade?
Yes! Please get in touch via the contact page.
The diameter of the drum shades is usually fixed at 15cm, 20cm, 25cm, 30cm, 35cm or 40cm but I can adjust the height to your requirements.
Can you make a custom lampshade using customer supplied fabric?
Yes, you're not limited to all the designs here, please get in touch via the contact page to discuss.
Which lining should I choose?
We offer standard white lining or a brushed metallic gold, copper or silver lining. When choosing a lining it's important to consider how much light you want to shine through. The metallic linings are thicker and don't allow as much light to pass through the sides of the shade, so the pattern of the fabric will be less visible. With a metallic lining, light will be emitted from the top and bottom of the shade in a hue similar to that of the lining colour.
What bulb should I use?
Low energy bulbs are recommend. If using a traditional bulb we recommend a maximum of 60W.
